Animal Lover Betty White

 I am a huge fan of Betty White, and relate to her love of animals and their protection. I agree with Betty, “they keep you young”.

Betty claims that her love for animals began in the womb. She was convinced that if her family’s orange cat “Toby” hadn’t approved of her, she would’ve been sent right back to the hospital. Fortunately for her, Toby approved.

She says that her love for animals came from her parents, as they were just as crazy about them as she. She often pairs her acting career with activism for animals. In 1971 she created a TV show called the Pet Set, where she would bring celebrity’s on to talk about their pets. She said it was the most fun she ever had.

She was overwhelmed and emotional when the Morris Animal Foundation and Proctor & Gamble presented her a lifetime achievements honor for helping animals for almost half her life. Betty has been on the board for the last 40 years, but was humbled to be in the presence of so many animal lovers. The Morris Animal Foundation funds humane studies in the specific health problems of dogs, cats, horses and wildlife. Betty says, “I’m so proud of the work they’ve accomplished.

When Betty lost her last dog, the people from Guide Dogs for the Blind heard about it and contacted her to let her know they had a new dog for her. He was a golden retriever trained as a guide dog, but was unable to work in the field. Now Pontiac’s work is to be loved by and love Betty White… what a lucky golden!

In a recent interview, White was asked, which was more important; her celebrity or the fact that she can use her celebrity name to help animals? She responded, “Oh I think helping the animals is – that’s the lovely upside of being a celebrity. I’m not an animal activist, not into anything political, demonstrations or anything like that, I’m just into animal health and welfare.”
Animals and animal lovers are lucky to have Betty White on their side.

    LOL is that what you young people would say in this cases? Hello there, i’m a 84 years old grandfather and I’ve just found this website in my browser history. My nephew used my laptop the last time he went here, I believe… he says LOL pretty often but I’ve started to undertand what it means only recently but he’s a good boy after all.
